Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing care to animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites for procedures
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Provide assistance with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices
- Experience with pet sitting, including feeding, walking, and administering medications
- Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques
- Basic pet grooming skills, such as bathing and nail trimming
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices, including feeding, housing, and exercise requirements
- Understanding of dog training techniques and ability to assist with basic obedience training
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
